August 17th Mr Small’s Theater in Millvale Pa hosted Baroness. This prog rock band recently releases their 7th studio album entitled ‘Gold and Grey.’ The band just kicked off the Gold and Gray tour to support the album release. Many people packed into the venue this night to catch the new set that included Seasons, and Borderlines

Baroness kicked off their set with A Horse Called Golgotha, before breaking into Their newest single Borderlines. The band’s set spanned across The Red, Blue, Yellow and Green, and Purple albums playing the best from each album and fan favorites as well. I am a huge fan of the song Isak which goes back to the band’s early years off of the Red Album.

This was also the first time seeing newer guitarist Gina Gleason with the band. Gina joined the band after Peter Adam’s left the band to focus on family and home life. Gina’s background included gigs with Cirque De Soleil, and the Smashing Pumpkins, as well as touring with Brendon Smalls of Dethklok. She was a standout on stage as her presence was amazing headbanging along to the songs and joining in on vocals for Chlorine and Wine, Tourniquet, and many others for the night.

If you get a chance to catch this tour this is a must see. The band is playing through many crowd favorites, as well as debuting several songs from the new album. You can also check out the new album Gold and Grey out now and streaming online.
